One Team Was Rumored To Have Their Eyes Set On New Texans Wide Receiver Brandin Cooks Before Trade
The Monday prior to trading wide receiver Brandin Cooks to the Texans, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay made a very interesting statement to the media on a conference call.
“When you’ve got a player of his [Cooks] caliber, there’s a lot of conversations,” McVay said.
Well we now know that one of those teams inquiring about Cooks was the Philadelphia Eagles. It was rumored that the Eagles contacted the Rams but were unwilling to part with their 53rd pick in the second-round of the 2020 NFL Draft for the speedy wideout.
Philly is in the market to put another fast receiver on the opposite side of 33-year old DeSean Jackson who missed 13 games last season after suffering a core muscle injury in Week 2 and was placed on injured reserve in November.
The Texans traded a second-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft to acquire Cooks and a 2022 fourth-round pick.
