On Monday, the NFL suspended Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, without pay for six games in the upcoming 2022 NFL regular season for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

The Cardinals acquired Hopkins in 2020 with an incredible blockbuster deal with the Houston Texans that sent running back David Johnson, a 2020 second-round, and a 2021fourth-round pick to Texas. Arizona also received a 2021fourth-round selection as compensation.

The former three-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games but will not be eligible to return to the team’s active roster until their sixth regular-season game.

After Hopkin’s suspension was announced, his brand manager, Doug Sanders, sent out a text saying that he was shocked that the NFL took that course of action.

Arizona will rely heavily on former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown who they traded for last Thursday during the first round of the NFL Draft. Brown was disgruntled with the Ravens’ offensive scheme and game plan.
