Big Sarge Salutes - NFL Top 10

1.New Orleans Saints - 7-1

One common theme this year for fans and media personalities alike is, “Who Have You Played?” Many base how good the team has been this year on their schedule. With wins over teams that are a combined 18-8 (Seattle, LA Rams, Cowboys) the Saints have shown up when it has counted.

2.SF 49ers – 8-0

San Francisco has surprised a lot of people this year with a very hot start. Their defense has a total of 30 sacks this year lead by defensive lineman, Nick Bosa’s team leading seven sacks. They face their toughest test of the year against the Seahawks this week. A victory would solidify their place as one of the best teams in the NFL this year.

3.Seattle Seahawks – 7-2

The Seahawks are led by quarterback Russell Wilson who is the frontrunner for league MVP. With 22 touchdowns and one interception, Wilson has his team right back on track as one of the best teams in the NFL. He will have his hands full this week going up against the Niners who has a very strong defensive front seven.

4.Baltimore Ravens - 6-2

Quarterback Lamar Jackson saved his best work for the entire world to see by defeating the defending Super Bowl Champs in a convincing fashion. New England had no answer for Jackson and looked confused all night on the defensive side of the ball. The Ravens look like they are finally putting everything together and will be looking to take over the AFC.

5.New England Patriots – 8-1

A bad showing on national tv against the aforementioned Baltimore Ravens brought out all the naysayers this week. Most had looked at the Patriots 8-0 record to start the season as a facade and said the Ravens was their first real test. They have a tough schedule playing four teams that are all playoff ready in the next month.

6.Green Bay Packers – 7-2

A terrible showing against the LA Chargers sent the Packers back to the drawing board and finger pointing. Aaron Rodgers looked disoriented the entire day as the Chargers kept the pressure on him and never allowed him to get into a rhythm with his receivers. The Packers have a strong propensity to put bad losses behind them which they must do as they try and hold off the Vikings.

7.Houston Texans- 6-3

Houston could easily be undefeated this year with all their losses being by less than seven points. Coming off of a bye they will play the most dangerous dual-threat quarterback in the game right now in Lamar Jackson, but they have a MVP candidate in Deshaun Watson guiding an offense that is making the rest of the AFC take notice.

8. Kansas City Chiefs- 6-3

A late field goal gave the Chiefs a must needed win over the Vikings as reigning league MVP Patrick Mahomes continue to heal from a dislocated kneecap. If they can keep winning while their leader is out they will move back into one of the top-five teams in the league.

9. Buffalo Bills- 6-2

The Bills defense is very good. They have kept their team in a lot of games this year and is the main reason Buffalo is on a lot of people’s radar. Led by defensive tackle Jordan Phillips with six sacks, the Bills are staying in contention to take down the mighty Patriots.

10. Dallas Cowboys- 5-3

Most Cowboys fans held their breath the other night against the NY Giants when the black cat ran onto the field. It could have meant that the Cowboys were headed towards another loss at MetLife stadium. Dallas had lost to the NY Jets there earlier in the season to give the Jets their only win. But the Cowboys showed resiliency and went on a 21-3 run to win the game and remain undefeated in their division at 4-0, which is important with the Philadelphia Eagles on their heels.
